Exchange Reflections

Posted on November 17th, 2008 in blog | Comments

image Are you kidding me?  Things have been rockin’ like crazy in exchange.  Like many churches, we are experiencing some financial strain, but even in the middle of that, extraordinary things are happening.  Things like:

  • Over $2200 donated to the Advent Conspiracy offerings (and that does NOT include the money collected yesterday).
  • 6 MORE baptisms last night!  Check it:  in 2008, we have seen 93 people baptized!  Bam!!! Let’s break into triple digits before the year ends!

Make plans to be here Sunday as we did deeper into the Advent Conspiracy and watch the crazy things that God is doing.

I’m so glad to be part of a community that follows Christ and serves in his cause!

Who are YOU bringing Sunday?

You can read the whole story here.  Before you go all crazy, how about we think of a great AND civil answer to the question asked:  “Why believe in a God?”

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect . . . - 1 Peter 3:15

Training

prerun I am well into the Marathon training.  Saturday brought a 17 mile run.

A friend said “Hey, I saw you running.  You were going slow. You must have been in cool-down.”

Nope.

Christian response to Obama

image I don’t care if you voted for him or not.  The vote is over.  It’s time to move to more important things.  Regardless of your vote, for or against, followers of Jesus have a responsibility to our new president: pray for him.

Yesterday we did our civic duty.  For the next 4 years, let’s do our godly duty.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. -I Tim 2:1-2
