Welcome to resonate! Here we explore leadership, life, and spirituality. You will find articles, links, community, and nonsense. Join in the conversation and be a part of the resonance.
My name is Scot Longyear. I am a husband, father, musician, Pastor, worship leader, teacher, and full-time schmo.
I have been married to Stephanie since I was 20 years old. Together, we have 2 daughters and a dog. We are an average family living the above average life, leading a church, spending less than we make and living way beyond our means.
I am the Lead Pastor of a community called exchange. We are part of Maryland Community Church where I serve as the Sr Associate Pastor, a fancy titled which, when translated, means “he who goes to many meetings.” Steph is a stay at home Mom and Princess of all things travel. Check out Steph’s travel-mom blog for a look inside the life of a budget traveler.
I am a follower of Christ and live in community with a bunch of like-minded folks whose primary desire is to serve the cause of Christ. With this community of people we live, laugh, fight, serve, and love.
Over the course of time I have had the opportunity to write and record CD’s, open for some fine folks in Christian music, and have been able to travel to speak and lead worship. A highlight has been traveling to Spain with the Billy Graham Association. In the spring of 2008, Steph and I traveled to Moscow where I taught and led worship in a private school as well as a University. I live a crazy life on this journey. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
My hope is that through this blog some of the things in my life may resonate with you so deeply that it causes you to resonate with the Creator.
Welcome to the journey of resonance.
