I was that way. I'm still excited about guitars and gear, but I too have let realization set in and only use and purchase what I need to get the job done. I still have and use my first guitar. Sure I have my dreams of what I would really love to play, but this gets the job done, I am familiar with it. I also try to keep a backup around, and those are the only ones I've ever had stolen! My backup is (don't think less of me) now an <a href="http://www.esteban-guitars.com/" rel="nofollow">Esteban</a>! It actually doesn't play too bad considering it was less than $200.
